Embroidery on golf towels: logo size and placement
Terry cloth is forgiving on bold art and brutal on fine detail. These are the rules Battle Born Clothing uses when digitizing a logo for a TW51 or TW50 towel.
Size
| Placement | Width | Height | Approx. stitches |
|---|---|---|---|
| Corner (TW51) | 3 to 4 in | 2 to 3 in | 3,000 to 6,000 |
| Lower center (TW51) | 4 to 6 in | 2 to 3 in | 5,000 to 9,000 |
| Outer panel (TW50 tri-fold) | 3 to 4 in | 2 to 3 in | 3,000 to 6,000 |
Up to 6,000 stitches is included in the price. Lower-center logos over 6,000 stitches are quoted per design.
Placement
- Corner opposite the grommet so the logo hangs facing out
- Keep 1 inch from the hem so the hoop clears the edge
- On a tri-fold, only the outer panel shows on the bag
Artwork that works
- Bold wordmarks and simple crests
- Text at least 0.25 inch tall
- Solid fills instead of gradients
- Two to four thread colors
Artwork that fails
- Thin script and serif text under 0.25 inch
- Fine outlines (they sink into the loops)
- Photos and gradients
- Tiny registered marks and taglines
How we handle terry
We digitize with a knockdown underlay so the loops lie flat, add a topping during stitching, and raise density slightly on fills. You see the result on a digital proof before we run the order.
Thread colors
Rapos thread in the closest shade to your brand colors. On a white towel almost anything reads; on navy or black, use light thread for the main mark.
Questions
Can you embroider on a microfiber towel?
Yes. Microfiber is flatter than terry, so finer detail holds. The blank is quoted per job.
Can the logo be bigger than the included 6,000 stitches?
Yes. We quote the extra stitches per design and show the count on the proof.
